Assignment 3
Text and Image
Critique: 3/28 (9am)

Combine text with your photographs to make a statement. The text may be contained within the photographs, applied to the photographs, and/or accompany the photographs. The words should be your own. Text is not required in, on, or with every print; however it should be considered of equal importance to the imagery and crucial to the viewer's understanding of the work. Strive to create a mutually dependent relationship between text and image. Captions that literally describe the imagery will not be considered as textual content, nor will titles.

Production Requirements

Shoot a minimum of two rolls of film (36 exposure rolls are standard for class assignments; if you use 24 exposure rolls, shoot three rolls). Your final submission should include a minimum of two full contact sheets and four to six final prints.

Incorporate the use of Photoshop into this project and/or the Fiction assignment.

In addition, submit a written artist statement about the project. The statement should be typed, double-spaced, and concise (no longer than a page).
