Assignment 7
Self-Portrait
Critique: 5/2 (9am)
Put a spin on the traditional self-portrait. Create a likeness or reflection of yourself without showing your face. "Less is more" should be your mantra as you produce a triptych series of images. In other words, portray yourself with economy.
Production Requirements
Shoot a minimum of two rolls of film (36 exposure rolls are standard for class assignments; if you use 24 exposure rolls, shoot three rolls). Your final submission should include a minimum of two full contact sheets and exactly three final prints.
In addition, submit a written artist statement about the project. Include an extra section summarizing your approach to the medium of photography, with particular reference to how your views may have changed and/or grown over the course of the semester. The statement should be typed, double-spaced, and concise (no longer than two pages).
