Assignment 2
Narrative Sequence
Critique: 7/24 (1pm)

Tell a story with your photographs. You may draw inspiration from narrative conventions that operate outside the sphere of two-dimensional visual art, such as film, literature, poetry, comics, spoken word, radio, and journalism (among others). Pay special attention to how your photographs inform one another and how they might be interpreted when presented together.

Production Requirements

Shoot a minimum of two rolls of film (36 exposure rolls are standard for class assignments; if you use 24 exposure rolls, shoot five rolls). Your final submission should include a minimum of two full contact sheets and a minimum of eight final prints. Prints should conform to the following standards:
  • 8"x10"
  • Full-frame (image should be same aspect ratio as paper; slight cropping of edges is permissible)
  • Plain borders

In addition, submit a written artist statement about the project. The statement should be typed, double-spaced, and concise (no longer than a page).
