Assignment 3
Fiction
Critique: 8/2 (9am)

Abandon the practice of documenting what you see. Don't just take photographs–make them. Construct a fantastical world alternative to the one you live in every day. You may choose to stage a set, employ characters within a story, alter the forms and relationships of everyday objects, or draw from the subconscious for inspiration. Whatever your approach, strive to create a nonsensical work that challenges the notion of reality.

Production Requirements

Shoot at least 70 exposures at the appropriate resolution for high-quality printouts. (A 5 megapixel camera should go at least to 2592x1944, which will produce a print that is roughly 8.5x6.5 inches at 300ppi. By comparison, 1024x768 will produce a print that is roughly 3.5x2.5 inches at 300ppi.)

Your final submission should include contact sheets and a minimum of six final prints.

In addition, submit a written artist statement about the project. The statement should be typed, double-spaced, and concise (no longer than a page).
